Asian Glazed Magnolia Chicken Wings



Ingredients

8 pc MAGNOLIA CHICKEN STATION CHICKEN WINGS, cut into 2

1 cup cornstarch for dredging

2 cups MAGNOLIA NUTRI-OIL PALM OLEIN for deep-frying

marinade:

1 tsp garlic paste*

1 tsp five spice powder

1 tsp cayenne pepper

1 tsp iodized fine salt

1/2 tsp pepper

glaze:

1 tsp minced garlic

1 tsp grated ginger

2 tbsp olive oil

3 tbsp MAGNOLIA GOLD BUTTER UNSALTED

1 tsp hoisin sauce

1 tbsp chili garlic sauce

1 tbsp honey

1 tbsp white wine vinegar

2 tsp cornstarch, diluted in 1/4 cup water

1/2 tsp iodized fine salt

1/2 tsp pepper

*prepare by mashing cloves of garlic

Procedure

  1. Marinate chicken wings in garlic, five spice powder, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper for 3 hours.
  2. Glaze: Sauté garlic and ginger in olive oil and butter. Add hoisin sauce, chilli garlic sauce, honey and vinegar. Thicken with cornstarch mixture. Let it simmer. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Steam marinated chicken until it changes in color. (May be cooked in the microwave oven for 3-1/2 minutes)
  4. Dredge chicken wings in cornstarch. Deep-fry.
  5. Toss in glaze. Serve.
